A Life Purpose

or

Career Path

Do we have “A Life Purpose” ?

What is a “Career Path”?

Is your “Career Path” getting you to “Your Life Purpose”?

entrepreneural spirit creates job dissatisfaction

These are very difficult questions to begin to ask ourselves.  At some point in our lives, we find that we are on a “Career Path”.   Whether this was planned and executed consciously or not,  we begin to find ourselves immersed in a profession, business, or environment that we understand and have found a “niche”  of some sort.

Once you have created a direction for yourself, what do you do when you find (for any number of reasons), that direction no longer operates successfully for you.   This change could be financial, emotional, health-online video advertising - is this the answer?related, or any number of reasons.   Many of us experienced this during the recent recession.

What I did, was to begin re-evaluating every aspect of the career path that I had chosen (or had chosen me).  For one thing, I read a book by Patricia Drain, “What will I be now that I am 40, 50, 60”.  One thing that I began to understand is that we are multi-talented and using those God Given talents, plus the skills we can learn along our journey in this life, is the best way to discover “Your Life Purpose”.   This may open ways of finding your life purpose without going down the wrong path, too many times.

We tend to listen to others when we are deciding our direction for our Career Path.  This can be parents, teachers, guidance counselors, bosses and other authority figures in our lives.  It is natural for us to believe that they have the answers for us, because we respect and value their experience and opinion.  However, listening to others only, and not listening to our own hearts, can take us in directions away from using our natural talents as much as the skills we can acquire.

Another book I read, when I was re-evaluating my Career Path choices, is

“Don’t Let Others Rent Space In Your Head”

by Gary Coxe

The title says it all.

No matter who we are or how old we are, we are influenced by others.  Discernment is the word that is truly socially motivated business ideas yes we canthe way to decide for yourself if something is “Your Life Purpose” and if you are following a Career Path to help you get to that opportunity within your lifetime.   The more you understand you, what your heart is saying to you, and taking action that gets you to living that purpose, believe in yourself and believe in your dream.  Our world creates Fear in many of us  (False Evidence Appearing Real).  Step outside of that fear and believe in what you hear from your heart, before taking the next step.  Always listen to advice and then weigh it within yourself.  You are the best authority on you and “Your Life Purpose”.

A few years ago, when I first decided to discover more about myself and my life purpose (thanks to the recession of 2009).  I created a vision board for myself.  I want to begin sharing it with you and perhaps you may find new ways of thinking about creating that Career Path that will lead to “Your Life Purpose” and joy and happiness for being able to live that purpose in this lifetime.

I began by creating a Mind Map and eventually moved this Mind Map into a 3’x5′ board in my office and added 3×5 cards with important information about how I could reach my own life purpose.  For those younger than me, this is really a great time for you to start working on discovering your own Life’s Purpose and creating the career path to get there.  Keep your mind open and always listen to your heart.

When we first start to think about our Career Path and whether we are working toward a direction that will bring us into Our Life Purpose,  the biggest, first decision we  might want to consider, is when do I have the time to spend just thinking about this for myself, with no interruptions.  Many people find that early morning coffee quietness opens their minds to listen to their hearts, while others find that just before bedtime offers them an opportunity to listen.  This sounds like a small thing but it can be very hard to quiet your mind sometimes and writing yourself into a dedicated time is a great way to start.

For many of us, we have followed a path that was laid out by the society that we live in.   Those of us that grew up in the current thinking of society, took many things for granted.  We believed our parents when we were told that working an eight to five job, making an income, and believing in what our elders, governments and authority figures told us was a responsible way to be.  The world became a world designed around cleverly disguised programming of fear, fear of lack, fear of the future, fear of getting old, fear of illnesses, fear of tragedies and, fear (in general).  In case you are unaware,

The Opposite of Love is Fear!

We have found, however, that many of our authority figures have been acting with the duality of what is “right” and what is “wrong”, without opening their minds and listening to their hearts.  Our hearts are the source of our integrity.  We are beings created by love, from a God that wants us to feel love – not fear, which, makes our hearts the way we tap into the truth about what is right and wrong. When we begin to understand “right” and “wrong” from a point of view of Love, our integrity begins to stand strong in our hearts and blossom into new ways of being.  Our hearts know that harming another living being, including our lovely planet, is not acting in a loving manner.  When we see people hurting each other, destroying wildlife, or just acting as a “mean girl” to peers, we understand that the sense of “oneness” with all living beings is not being respected.

Just taking away the thoughts of harmful acts against one another, moves us into integrity.  Integrity is one step closer to realizing the “oneness” of all living beings.  We may be all different, but we are all the same.  We are all created by the Divine, which means there is something Divine in all.  Following that one thought, is a great way to start thinking about your own Life Purpose.  Seeing sameness instead of difference, can be the start of a new way of society organization.

Socially Conscious Job Postings

I believe love and respect is a great place to start.  Differences can be a fun and new way of learning new ideas, solutions, creativity and even moving to a Career Path that will lead you to your Life’s Purpose.

Have a great day –   Follow what you hear in your heart – not in the old belief that our differences are to be hated or feared.  Differences can be a learning period when we open our minds and don’t close our hearts to each other.
