Dear Payson Friends and Community,
Payson is a great town and, on a personal note, I feel very blessed to have moved to Payson in 2006.

Seeing all of the people living in the area prosper is something that I would love to see!
There are two things happening that, together, create a very positive opportunity for the Payson Area, whose population enjoys more than 60% of it’s inhabitants over the age of 45.
“In the town, the population was spread out with 18.1% under the age of 18, 4.6% from 18 to 24, 15.3% from 25 to 44, 25.9% from 45 to 64, and 36.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 49 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.5 males[11] From Wikipedia-Payson, Arizona.”
Governor Ducey’s, SB1042, changing requirements for classroom instructors. Because of the shortage of funds for teachers, this new bill opens up the opportunity for some of our residents with experience in skilled trades, professional experience, and specific business, skills or talents to offer their services to work with students. We have no shortage of experienced individuals in our area. Many of these people possess valuable talents to share with our younger population.
As Payson is considered rural and we have a high percentage of Economically Disadvantaged individuals, we are eligible for multiple grant opportunities to help our economic situation and positive growth opportunities for those of us living in the area. With so many non-profits, small businesses and unemployed or retired individuals, creating an economic boost to our area would be of great service to each one of us.
In today’s world, it is difficult to consider only volunteer work as an option for our time. We are living longer, cost of living is going up, many people lost their savings through the recession period and we are experiencing lack of basic needs. Therefore, creating something positive for our local residents and younger generation can be a very valuable asset to the area. If you, as a person, with knowledge can find ways to be of service to our area, applying for private and public grants can put a little extra in your pocket while you are being of service to our great community.
