New Graduate Careers?
Follow Your Passion?
Does That Work?
Ask Generation Y!!!!
New Graduate Careers and choices for work are changing. We have taught our generations to get their education, find a good job and make the money to support their family. This is how they are to create their future existence through the career choice they make before they are even 30 years old. Many new graduates must make a career choice even before they have lived on their own in the world.
It is my opinion that because many of us from a previous generation did not take the opportunity to follow our passion because of society’s structures we have told newer generations of graduates to “Follow Their Passions” when making a career choice.
The following video gives us a perspective of how Generation Y graduates might be feeling about the career advice: “Follow Your Passion!” I know I have been giving this same advice to job seekers over the years, but my own decisions do not always reflect the same advice.
When we begin to really look at our own passions and how we can create a better world for ourselves, our path become clearer. If we look very closely at these passions, we can also discover how these same desires, talents, skills and heart motivated sensations bring the desire to share our happiness with others. Our true inner being feelings, without the influence of others or our ego self, bring us into a sense of connection. We then can become part of a whole instead of struggling to fit into boxes that have been molded for us.
The following video does an excellent job of showing you how opening up to your own inner guidance, opens up your potential to be connected to your best self. The self that can share it’s gifts, without fear of rejection or doubt.
Generation Y’s desire to “Follow Their Passion” is a result of past generations. New graduate career choices of today no longer are dependent upon the old attitudes based on outside influences but on the inner self, which is the truth of the individual.
We all owe a big thanks and gratitude to our new graduates who are following their dreams. No matter what generation we claim in this life, the advice of “Follow Your Passion” is a way to create your life the way you envision the possibilities.
Dream Big!
